Making Coconut-Inlay Jewelry
When Lindsay, our accountant, visited Ecuador, she especially liked watching artisans make coconut-inlay jewelry. First, the coconut shells are ground into a fine powder and a resin is added. Next, the coconut mixture is poured into recycled materials like bottle caps. Once the coconut mixture has dried, each piece is engraved and inlaid with thin strands of aluminum from soda cans. After sanding and polishing, cords and clasps are added.

All things are connected. We did not weave the web of life. We are but a strand in it. Whatever befalls the earth befalls the people of the earth.
