We arrived home safely after our 8th trip to Kenya. On the drive home, I noticed how different things are here, and how easy our life is. We had several routes we could have taken, all beautifully paved and safe to drive on. The hills were golden, but the lake behind the dam was low due to our 3-year drought. But I did not see field after field of dead maize nor did we see dead animals and bare dirt because the hills had been overgrazed. We stopped at a fruit stand, and the food was fresh, cheap, and readily available, and there was no one begging. People are always saying, "God bless you!" My response is usually, "I am indeed blessed in every way!" Trips to Kenya are an important reminder to me to remain aware of those blessings, and to try to pass them around to as many people as I can. Blessings should never be hoarded; they must be shared. Kenyans have taught me that that is the source of life's greatest joy. - Darleen
